The webinar will demonstrate how actionable insights can be obtained from tourism expenditure data, how NTOs can use the insights within their organisation as well as challenges and opportunities associated with using banking/financial data sources.
Representatives from Mastercard, Turismo de Portugal and Atout France will present their projects focused on using this data source and highlight how it has helped their organisations with strategic decision making.

Joerg oversees Government and Public Service activities in Data & Services for Mastercard. In this role he is responsible to support Government and Public institutions to leverage Mastercard’s real-time, anonymised and aggregated transaction data, powerful software platforms and wealth of expertise to unlock a holistic view of consumer and citizens behavior, distill actionable insights and make more data-driven decisions. With these offerings and services Public Institutions can drive efficiency and innovation and are enabled to solve problems end to end.
Based in Berlin, Joerg had several global and regional positions before with Mastercard in Europe as well as the Middle East and Africa/ Asia Pacific regions and has lived in Dubai for several years. Joerg served as a regional lead in MEA for Advisors and did lead the Innovation and Digital, Cybersecurity and Real time Payment/Open banking practices afterwards.
Sérgio Guerreiro is currently Senior Director for Knowledge Management and Innovation at Turismo de Portugal, being in charge of statistics, business intelligence, sustainability, entrepreneurship and innovation. He is also responsible for the program Tourism 4.0, an integrated program to foster innovation in the tourism sector involving more than 350 startups. He represents Portugal at several international working groups at UNWTO, OECD and European Travel Commission. He is currently Chairman of the OECD Tourism Committee and Chairman of the European Travel Commission’s Market Intelligence Group. He is also World Economic Forum’s Agenda Contributor.
As a data Scientist, Antoine Martinworked for several French institutions – French Hospital, The French Central Bank. After 4 years, he joined Atout France, the French Tourism Development Agency as a Lead Project Manager, where he contribute to create France Tourism Observation, a data platform to gather and visualise the data of all tourism actors in France.
