The 20th TourMIS Users’ Workshop & International Seminar on “Positive Social Impact of Tourism” will be hosted in Vienna on 11-12 September 2025. The event is organised by the European Travel Commission, City Destinations Alliance, and Modul University Vienna. The event targets national, regional and city Destination Management Organisations (DMOs) as well as academia and tourism businesses from the private sector.

Day 1: By attending the workshop on the first day, led by Professor Karl Wöber, founder of TourMIS, participants will learn how to enter tourism statistics into the system and how to use the various benchmarking tools to produce valuable market research reports.

Day 2: The International Seminar “Positive Social Impact of Tourism” on day 2 has been shaped and will be led by City Destinations Alliance. It will be explored what social impact really means and why it matters for destinations and local communities. How can we measure it in a meaningful and practical way? And how do we translate results into powerful, honest storytelling? Throughout the day, participants will be inspired by real-world examples, research insights, and innovative measurement frameworks. Interactive workshops will offer space to exchange experiences, co-create ideas, and test new tools. The seminar brings together destinations, knowledge institutions, and tourism professionals in an open, collaborative setting. Join us and discover how tourism can deliver real value for people, places, and society.
