ETC WEBINAR – EUROPEAN TOURISM: TRENDS AND PROSPECTS Q4/2024

European Tourism Trends & Prospects is a series of quarterly reports that offer a concise analysis of key economic and tourism trends in Europe and in relevant outbound markets. Quarterly reports are meant to provide the know-how necessary to monitor the short-term development of European tourism.

Tourism Economics will highlight and reflect on the latest tourism trends and data in Europe for 2024, as well as provide some analysis on both the global and European economic backdrop. Following President Trump’s inauguration, they will also highlight some key assumptions and risks to the forecasts and how a second term may impact travel flows, including those from China and how this may effect the long-haul travel recovery.

The webinar will provide European tourist destinations with insights on:

Chloe Parkins

Chloe is a Senior Economist with Tourism Economics, specialising in European tourism forecast services. On top of forecasting, she takes a key role in European consultancy work including regular outputs for the ETC and STR. She previously worked on both the industry and macro services within Oxford Economics for seven years where she developed her skills in forecasting, modelling, data visualisation and bespoke consulting work.

Jennifer Iduh

Jennifer Iduh is currently Head of Research and Insights at the European Travel Commission (ETC), a non-profit organisation responsible for the promotion of Europe as a tourist destination in third markets.

In that capacity, Jennifer is responsible for research and reporting into different source markets and the identification of key trends and opportunities for European tourism. Jennifer is also in charge of research activities linked to the European Commission (EC) and other research partners such as the World Tourism Organisation (UN Tourism), the World Travel and Tourism Council and the European Tourism Association (ETOA), amongst others.

Jennifer’s knowledge in market research is backed up by four years of working experience at the World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism), where she provided support to the Tourism Market Trends department and the Travel department.

Aran Ryan

Aran assists owners, operators, and destinations to understand the impact of tourism industry trends. He focuses on industry-specific analysis and forecasting, as well as strategy and policy analysis.

He has over 25 years of consulting experience applying analytics, forecasting, project management, research, and financial analysis skills to support client decision-making in the lodging, casino gaming and destination development sub-sectors.

Prior to joining Tourism Economics, he was a Director in the Hospitality & Leisure consulting practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). Before PwC, he worked at WEFA Group (now IHS Markit). A graduate of Colby College, Aran earned an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
