European Travel Commission (ETC) has embraced a new approach whereby a destination’s success is defined by other aspects rather than just tourism volumes. A thematic approach in a globalised world will allow Destination Europe to be oriented towards a broader range of geographical markets and achieve better brand association. European destinations are, therefore, called to promote thematic experiences that are strongly connected to Europe’s identity and traveller’s main passions and interests.

Marco is a Principal Consultant at VVA Group. He has worked in a variety of industries, such as transport, space (with a focus on GNSS applications), telco and tourism. He is responsible for international projects, coordinating and performing economic analyses and CBAs, policy roadmap studies, market assessments, as well as programme evaluations.Marco has coordinated stakeholders’ consultations and data research activities, economic and public policy support studies, and he has been responsible for setting up awareness campaigns and stakeholder events.
