In October 2025, the European Travel Commission (ETC) travelled to New York to spotlight one of the world’s most dynamic and influential travel corridors: Europe and North America.
ETC, in partnership with Skift and hosted by Mastercard, organised the Transatlantic Summit, bringing together more than 100 senior leaders from destinations, airlines and travel technology to explore the trends shaping the future of transatlantic travel.
Opened by Apostolos Tzitzikostas, European Commissioner for Sustainable Transport and Tourism, the summit brought together experts to explore the trends shaping transatlantic travel. Discussions covered destination branding, sustainable tourism practices, intermodal connectivity and the role of collaboration in building resilience in a turbulent world.
The event brought European tourism leaders and industry partners around a shared vision for the future of transatlantic travel, reinforcing the importance of a strong and collaborative relationship between Europe and North America.
