EUROPEANS PIN HOPES ON EARLY SUMMER VACATIONS TO BEAT THE LOCKDOWN FATIGUE

  • 54% of Europeans aim to make a trip before the end of July 2021, revealing the strong pent-up demand to resume travel
  • 1 in 3 Europeans believe that May-July is the most feasible period for their next trip
  • Ramping up the efficiency of the vaccine rollout remains the crucial factor in kick-starting travel within Europe

The project “Monitoring Sentiment for Domestic and Intra-European Travel” gauges the sentiment, drivers and behaviours for domestic and intra-European travel in ten high-volume European source markets – Germany, United Kingdom, France, Netherlands, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland, Spain, Poland and Austria. Key findings and recommendations for destinations and tourism authorities will be made available in six monthly reports starting in September 2020.

This project is co-funded by the European Union.

This report features data collected in January 2021.
