Handbooks and Reports
A core competence of the European Travel Commission is to act as a platform to share best practices in tourism. European destinations excel in almost every aspects related to tourism development, promotion and analysis - a knowledge capital that the ETC acknowledges and valorises through a series of handbooks jointly realised with the UN World Tourism Organisation.
Best practice handbooks structure the existing know-how and expertise, which is needed to respond to long- and short-term challenges, into practical how-to guides. These handbooks also serve as instrument to make market intelligence part of the "culture" of organisations and companies operating in tourism. The series of handbooks currently covers aspects related to tourism marketing, research methodologies and fast growing tourism products.
ETC and UNWTO reports emphasise the importance of pan-European co-operation in maximizing the quality and relevance of marketing practices and market intelligence.
