Supplementary report on the evolution of NTOs, past, present and future
As part of the programme of work undertaken in preparing the ETC Report on the Changing Tourism Environment and its Impact on the Work of NTOs, two substantial pieces of original research were undertaken:
- Interviews with key stakeholders: Nineteen interviews were undertaken between November 2020 and January 2021 with CEOs of ETC and non-ETC member NTOs, as well as global tourism organisations
- Analysis of data relating to NTO profiles and activities, including overall budget and staffing, activities undertaken and allocation of marketing budgets, level and sources of funding, strategic partners and stakeholders, digital transformation, destination innovation projects and performance measurement.
This report comes in two parts, the first relating to the interviews with key stakeholders, the second to the analysis of NTO data.
